Jim graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1975 and began his career with the international firm of Deloitte in Cleveland, Toledo, and San Diego, California before starting his own firm. In 1985, he and Dave O’Brien founded Weber O'Brien Ltd., a certified public accounting firm providing assurance, tax and consulting services. Jim is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA). He was selected as the Bowling Green State University’s Distinguished Accounting Alumni in 2002. Jim has been a past nominee for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the firm won the prestigious Torch Award in 2003. Jim’s area of focus is with strategic business consulting, mergers and acquisitions, and planning. Jim is very involved with is client in finance and planning matters both from a personal and corporate perspective. Jim is a community leader on many different boards and volunteer organizations. Jim is on the Board of Directors of the Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce. He is on the Board of Paramount Insurance Company and serves on the Finance Committee of Promedica Health System. Jim serves as a member of the Toledo Public Schools Career Technology Stakeholders Committee. He is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Small Business and Development Institute with the University of Toledo. He was on the Board of Directors of the Franciscan Center at Lourdes College. Jim speaks nationally for the NAHB (National Association of Home Builders), and NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association). He is also a frequent speaker for the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University, as well as other organizations in Northwest Ohio. Jim is a speaker at various events. He was the Keynote speaker at the 2009 Custom Builder Symposium. He is also a speaker at the annual National Electrical Contractors Association, National and Regional conventions. Additionally he speaks throughout the United States at 20 Club meetings. Jim also spoke to the Printing Industry of America (PIA) Silver Pen Group. The University of Toledo has also utilized Jim as a guest lecturer within their Department of Management. Jim currently serves as an advisory board member for various companies. Jim’s speaking style is best described as dynamic, strong and “in your face”. He challenges the audience to improve themselves. Jim’s evaluations by his audience have been consistently the best. He engages the audience and captivates them with his style. His real-life examples hit home and leave a life changing impression on all those present. Jim is currently writing a book titled “Predictable Outcomes.”
